Angela Schatz Angela began dancing and performing in the U.S. at the age of nine and continued after moving to Israel. At seventeen she was certified as an Israeli Folk Dance instructor in Jerusalem. She resumed dancing after completing two years of Israeli army service and led Israeli Folk Dance sessions at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Her training includes ballet, modern, jazz, tap, and Afro-Brazilian dance. After majoring in Creative Dance at Lesley University in MA, Angela now works as a Creative Dance specialist in preschools throughout the Greater Boston area. She also teaches Israeli Folk Dance at Temple Shir Tikvah in Winchester, Simcha dancing at Maimonides, and Creative Ballet at the Jose Mateo Ballet Theatre in Cambridge. Angela choreographs and continues to perform annually at the MIT Israeli Folk Dance festival. She also facilitates dancing at Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, weddings, & various school events, and plans children’s Creative Dance birthday parties. At present she resides in Arlington with two of her four children, the other two being away at college. |
